In the 3/4 bracket have a look at the Shoei J-Cruise. Video reviews on YouTube. I've had mine about two years and love it.

BELL RS-1

With a transitions shield. Goes from light to dark, no need to swap out.

Shoei Neotec for me. I don't wear half helmets or 3/4 helmets. Too much wind noise, even with ear plugs, and too wind damage to my face. Plus they suck when it's raining. I had a HD full face modular and compared to the Shoei it is garbage. This helmet is super comfortable, ventilates great, and the internal shield rocks. No more changing shields when riding at night. And the aerodynamics are outstanding. Very quiet helmet. All you have to do is handle one and try it on to see the quality difference between something like this and a $100-$200 helmet. It is worth every penny.

Of course DOT + is a requirement as well as fit.. but Fit I will have to determine on my own.. no need to ask someone how something fits on them.

My Plan is to find a bunch of helmets I like and then order them from a site or two that allows returns.. I will probably order 5 or 6 helmets and keep the 2 that fit best ... I will judge certain things such as wait before even placing the order.

Local Harley dealer only has like 8 or 9 helmets in stock and most were far too big.. so going the online route.. just want to see what people were wearing.

Wish there was somewhere I could drive to to try on a bunch of different helmets.. but no such luck around me.. possibly Jacksonville , FL which is only 4 hour drive.. I could take a weekend trip there if I knew there were some places that had a good selection.

Anyways thanks to the few pic post so far..

Looking forward to more
Best check real careful on returns of a helmet. Can't say I have ever seen that allowed any where.

Revzilla makes a big deal about their helmet return policy. They're very good about letting people return helmets if they don't fit right.

To me, the most comfortable helmet made is by Arai. But they are expensive. Close second is Shoei. They are a bit less.

In Fl, not near the FLHR in NJ, but I typically wear a Schuberth C3 Pro or Schuberth SR1, especially when on the CBR or the track. Pricey? Yes, but how much is your brain worth to you?

Needed an upgrade so I ended up with a Bell Pit Boss 1/2 helmet. Isn't the smallest but it's damn well made and comfortable. I even find myself using the built in flip down visor during my morning commute which I totally thought was just a gimmick at first. Only beef is it rubs getting stuffed in a saddlebag, gotta find just right angle to fit.
