The rumor of a new frame ?
#3
Maybe to get some level of standardization across a number of product lines. If they can standardize the center box of frames in the dyna and touring lineup (and maybe even the softails too) then they could save a bunch of money.
I'm just guessing.

I'm not sure the touring bike will change but the motor won't fit in the current dyna or softail so they have to change.. I would expect them to possibly be the same and the sub-frame being the part that sets style. The touring frame won't work for dynas / softails as the rake is only 26 degrees and it has the long goose-neck to allow trail to be set right. What do you do with that space on a Dyna / Softail? It will be interesting to see what they do to change frame rake for some of the longer front end cruisers.
