What is it supposed to offer over the SE tuner by itself?

Interesting that it tunes the bike in real time. So no need to collect data like other tuners and load that data after the runs. Widebands are definitely the way to go when sensing AFR but I wonder how limited it is with the EPA stranglehold. It doesn't list the 2017 Touring bikes in the instructions which would indicate that it can't be used with the M8. And that it says pending regulatory approval in the description.

I just looked again and the M8 bikes are listed under "fitment". The instructions are just saying that certain bikes have to buy other stuff. Apparently the M8 exhaust is good enough and the 14-16 are supposed to get SE exhaust systems. Lol!

That is just a play on words, as your stock bike tunes in real time too. That does not mean what most would think it means. There are no real time changes going on here other than the trim values being adjusted from the O2 sensors. The ECM is not being reprogrammed and the VE values being corrected and stored as you do when you collect data, modify the calibration and reprogram the ECM with new starting values in the calibration.

I'm looking forward to some torture test rides this Summer to see how much the M8 improvements make..my 2015 Stage 1 ran like a dog in 100+ temps over 4000 foot Rattlesnake Pass last Summer. the new knock sensors, timing adjustments etc. should help and if it's much improved I'm happy and done with it
