OP, you will be happy with either. Can't go wrong. The Ultra is just the more classic look that earned it the nickname "Geezer-glide". BTW, I love mine. It eats miles like crazy also. Just being sentimental, (for me) part of riding HD is the nostalgic roots. This is why I opted for the classic look and features.

What are you trading? But regardless, I think the answer will be "a lot"!

unfortunately I didn't do as much homework on my 2017 ultra limited purchase as I should have. I wasn't aware of the differences in handling, in particular with the wind as a factor.

I've gotta say that you've got some kinda good taste on style.....That's the same paint that I have on my ultra limited.

I had a 14 limited and a 16 RGU. They are both equally good bikes. The road glide is a little better at highway speeds but not so much that you don't feel safe with the batwing. I like the looks of the batwing in stock form and to me you need to add a higher bar for the RG to look good. 75% of the people will say they like the looks of the batwing better but the shark is putting a dent in there sales as we speak. They are the same bike but quite different. If you know what I am saying. Ride them both and see the difference. Mite not be worth the money to trade.

responded....I've found a thread (batwing vs sharknose) which answers all my questions/concerns and more. Cheers

The only way to really know is ride them. Wife and I used one of the dealers RG while one of our bikes was in for bake pads. They had a Group from out of town with one of the groups bikes broke down . They ask if I would mine letting the shop get to him first.
Of course I had no problem. They tossed me a set of keys , said take the blue one and we will call you and Sue when we get yours done. It turned out to be a RG. We rode a good bit. When We got back my wife as what model is this again. Long story couple weeks latter Fathers day She purchased me a 2007 RG. We have been on RG and RGU's every sense.
