Default Steering head lubrication

Hello
This is my first time posting here and I have questions. We have 2 new rides and we have just hit a 1000 miles. Our dealer wants 460 bones for each bike for a 1st service and I think that is outrageous. We are going to do our own service and just ordered a shop manual. I just put redline in all 3 holes but I am at a loss to where the zero fitting is located for the steering head. I can not find it. Hers is a street glide and mine is a roadglide both 17's. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Craigars

I can't tell where the zerk fitting is, but the manual will. Don't forget the 1000 mike service includes checking critical fasteners, be sure you don't skip this. Might want to check fall away/tightness as well lubing the steering head.

From what I have read there is no zerk on the neck of the 17's.

Maybe there will be information in the shop manual and hopefully it will be here sometime next week. It just seems odd that it would not be a serviceable area.

Hasn't been a zerk fitting in a few years now. Lubing steering bearings requires front end disassembly now.

The zerk fitting was deleted in 2014 touring models.

I would suggest you keep all your receipts for the oil etc & mark down miles & date of your services. If the dealer tries to give you a bunch of ****, you'll have all the info. Good Luck.

According to the service manual Check/Adjust/Lubricate Steering Head Bearings is a 25,000 mile service item for the '17s
