Get the same noise, sounds like it's from the single cam, the demo bike I took out did the same thing...... seems to be an extra that HD are not asking you to pay for

MY bike still does it randomly, it went in for its 5000mile service and the dealer said it was the intake, but he pulled it apart and everything looked and worked good. Just sometimes whistles as it sucks over the butterfly i guess. mines not to bad, if it was doing it all the time we would have a problem

JUST A THOUGHT FROM ENGLAND. IT COULD BE THE CLACK VALVES IN THE ROCKER BOXES THAT ARE MAKING THE SQWEEK.

Just a thought from the US: It could be completely normal, and it is.

Ride and enjoy.

Lube the motor mounts? That's a new one.

Sounds like the BS they tried to foist off on me when they claimed to have "re-aligned" the starter for a cold-start kick-back problem I was having on the POS '03 RK I owned for a short time.

I called 'em on that crap and they ended up firing the service manager for lying to me, and also to the MoCo for an hour of fake warranty-labor.

Personally, I've always figured that he was actually fired for not coming up with a more plausible lie. That would make WAY more sense - for an H-D dealership, that is.

I eventually diagnosed the problem myself and replaced the CSP sensor at my own expense and then sold the bike shortly thereafter. Problem solved.

I have the exact same squeak/whistle...I have the HD heavy breather on it and next week I will be getting the fuel moto treatment and their AC/DC air cleaner kit, hoping that will eliminate the noise.

[QUOTE=Gadgetech;15696017]I've noticed the bike is either squeaking or whistling at idle. I though it was an engine mount problem but it sounds more like it's coming from the motor itself. It goes away with any increase in throttle so I really have no idea what could possibly be the issue. Has anyone else experienced this? I searched this forum for whistle and squeak and didn't find anything so I'm guessing this isn't a prevalent issue.[/QUOT

Mine does the same thing. Sounds like it is coming from the front head. Give even the slightest throttle and it goes away.

I know this thread is a little old but my 2017 M8 RG is doing the same thing. Squeaks idling, only when hot. I'm thinking maybe a cam bearing? Did anyone figure this out? Only 1,000 miles on it...dealer didnt find anything.

Change your oil. and don't use Syn3

And while the rest of you are laughing, remember, you are the folks telling him to hit the mounts with hammers and such.

I am thinking cam bearing as well. I just did the 5,000 mile oil change and there was some brass looking shavings in the oil pan. I dont have HD do my services so I will take it in and see if they will take an oil sample to see if there are more shavings.
