So I finally pulled the trigger this afternoon and signed on the dotted line for my new 2017 Road Glide Special in Vivid Black! I decided to bite-the-bullet and get everything I wanted wrapped into the financing so I wouldn't be nickel and diming parts later. So after extensive catalog flipping and lots of thought, here's what she'll have before I pick her up:
- 14" Yaffe Bars (Black) & extended wiring and cables
- HD Tallboy Seat
- Road Glide Wind Deflectors
- Rider's Backrest (Comfort Stitch) with mounting kit
- Black Sissy Bar with Mid-Size backrest (Comfort Stitch)
- Rear Saddlebag Guards (Black)
- HD Extended Reach Footboard Pans
- 4-Point Docking Hardware Kit (Black)
- King Tour-Pak (Vivid Black), with Detachable Two-Up Mounting Rack (Black), and Smooth Tour-Pak Backrest Pad
- Tour-Pak Spoiler Kit (Vivid Black) with LED Light Kit
- Locking HD Detachables Latch Kit (Black)
- Tour-Pak fitted lining
- Saddlebag fitted lining
- Lower & Upper Forks (Black)
- Chopped Engine Guard (Black)
- SE Stage 1 Kit (Black pipes with chrome tips)
- Willie G Grips
- 3.5mm Auxiliary Input Kit
- Hidden AM/FM/WB Antenna
- Turn Signal Extension Caps
- Black Axle Nut Caps
- Fan Assisted Oil Cooler Kit
- Custom Wrapped Front Fender (Vivid Black)
- Custom Dynamics LED Signals (Front & Back) Smoked Lenses
- Black Front Signal Mounts and Black Bullet Signal Housings
I'm stoked to see what it looks like once it's all finished. I think it'll be just the right balance of chrome and black without being too shiny and without being the played-out blacked out look. I like the stock wheels so I opted not to get different ones. I've never been a into rims anyway. I also ordered a 3" SoftBrake extended brake pedal and a 2.5" Sofbrake extended shifter to accommodate the extended footboards and my size 13 feet. Planning to do the Kuryakyn footboard relocators as soon as they make some for the 2017s. I already have a Long Ride 13" Thresher shield on order to replace the stocker.
Can't hardly wait!!!

Please Lord tell us you didn't finance the labor too?
If you did, you just missed about 3-4 of the most excellent days in your garage feeling up your new bike...
Like I would love that. All those parts man - at one time! Too much fun. I'm a mod guy though. Cool if you aren't.
Congrats and welcome to the Tank!

Most of it I did, but some I didn't. I chose to have them do the stuff that could get scratched or anything I felt would be a warranty issue later down the road. The small easy stuff I said I would do myself.

Man you're going to love that bike...
If you are ever in the area with the bike, hit me up. I'm up on the camp every so often working, but not with the bike...
Again, congrats.
