There is A L W A Y S something else that pops up that we "need" and if not then there comes a time when we want this upgrade to now be that doohicky.

Yup, still active. I'm getting promoted to E-8 this year and will be using the pay increase per month to make the payments. That way our quality of life doesn't change and we can still save money.
