Two of the valve pockets on the front piston are completely filled with carbon deposits from burning the oil coming from the intake. I consider that a problem.

If you trade your bike in every 2 - 4 years then you might not notice it.
I am keeping my bike and I know my new intake manifold and pistons don't look like that.
This is not an imaginary problem looking for a solution.

I traded my 2017 with 40,000 miles on after 3 years it and it ran as good then as it did from day 1..my 2020 has 35,000 miles on it and I have 3 years left of ESP and since I retired I plan on keeping it at least that long, which should put me around 80,000 miles after 5 years... I don't expect this 'problem' to be one but only time will tell..so far it has had zero issues of any kind...all that being said, obviously the engine is better off without ingesting the breather residue but to what degree it is an actually real world problem I'm not convinced it's significant enough to fuss over..I blow my carbon out the old fashion way often, I may be proven wrong but I'll report back in a few years!!!
I read somewhere that the new M8 engines vent into the transmission. Basically eliminating the need to do this mod.
I hope I didn't misread that.
I have the 2019 triglide m8. There is no vent going to the transmission. The 2 vents dump into the throttle body. I'm getting ready to vent mine to a catch can. There is oil mist inside the fliter housing.

I got a lot of good info on this thread so I figured I'd share my recent breather upgrade. After going to a 124" I was getting what I consider a significant amount of blowby. After looking at a ton of options here and all over the web I opted for a DK Customs breather and their Outlaw 606. I wanted to keep the stock M8 cover which I like. Overall I am satisfied, the product is great, but I am rethinking my hose routing. Anyway, It ran great in the quick 100 miles I've done since install. I may opt to go with a bobber style round cover.
Viton Rubber tubing. It's soft, heat resistant to 400°+, and it's oil resistant. 3/16" ID / 5/16" OD.
