Anyone doing the breather bypass on your M8?

After banging my leg on the K&N cold air intake, I decide to go a different route with the ventilator extreme Screamin eagle. As always, there are a few ways to do the breather modifications. I found some 90 deg bulkhead barb fittings, and ended up utilizing some of the stock breather components to make it work. The nuts that secure the barb fittings are on the back of the air cleaner secured with copious amounts of lock-tite as well. I also used silicone fuel line for the hoses which are joined with a brass t and sent down under the bike along the frame rail and then down to the ground.

I hit a few hardware stores and eBay to find mine. But what I ended up with is two holes drilled through my backing plate and rubber fuel line coming straight off my breather bolts and through the holes with no hardware used at all. Then zip ties along the bottom of the frame until I got each of them to the swingarm. You can see my final revision in Post #580 above. I just made sure to file the edges of the holes, inside and outside, and to make sure the hoses did not kink. Haven't had to mess with it since I finished with it.

Pull the stock hoses off and throw away.
Drill a hole in the location of your choice in the air box.
route to ground or install a catch can. Looking at the SE AC there will be some drilling the backing plate as they they reuse the same bolts as the stock air box. Also the air box is a lot closer the jug. There's not enough room do install like the twin cams, as there isn't enough room.
This is the way I did the by pass. Your plan my vary.

it's a violation of the terms and agreement of your limited powertrain warranty in so much as it qualifies as a modification to an emissions compliant component..as always, enter at your own risk...seems to be worth the risk to many, and many who don't give a rodent's hindquarters about warranty anyway it is a no brainer mod
