They’re good for when you run a custom air intake that usually leave the area more exposed
On those shoe box sized air boxes you guys love so much, any hose that fit the vent bolts and T fittings is plenty good
I always used windshield wiper hose and brass barbs. Run between both jugs to exit left side and down tubes and make my cut as far forward as possible

After reading this thread I decided I needed to get that EB hose out of the intake. I agree with others that have said HD would not vent the crankcase into the intake if the EPA didn't make them. It defies optimal engine design. I removed the air cleaner from my 2018 SG (5k miles) to find oil covering the bottom of the filter and housing. As a quick bypass I removed the short hose from the T and installed a clear hose which is routed down to the Hoppe's No. 9 bottle, which is vented. I plugged the air cleaner hole where the OEM hose went in. I'll monitor this to see how much it collects and then potentially buy an external breather kit or just run a better hose out the bottom of the housing to the bottom of the frame. Clear hose cost me 20 cents and the plastic plug for the air filter hole cost me 37 cents.
