Anyone doing the breather bypass on your M8?

Here's how I did it. The I drilled a few small 1/32 holes in the cap to vent and mad sure the plastic hose is an inch off the bottom so any eventual liquid wont block it off. In 1,500 miles I got maybe an ounce of water/oil mix. The breathers doing what it should by letting any
moisture boil off and obviously a little oil. Had in on there for 4,000 miles and works great.
s how I addressed the issue.

After 1,500 miles. In NJ its been aroun 90 % humidity and 90 degrees for the last two months and my bikes stored in my detached garage. Its like a sauna in there. The slight moisture in the mix I expect and am glad it is being evacuated.
Thats a 2 ounce shot glass so my 1 oz estimate is probably high. Its more around 1/2 oz.

I had similar setup with KN filter in stock housing. Then went to SE hi-flo AC, which has significantly less room inside the housing. I had to rig thinner can inside the filter element. Will need to check it between oil changes, every 2000 - 2500 miles or so.

No it wouldn't. But many of us are getting a lot more than that. And I still can't get an answer as to how much is considered normal vs you have a problem. Maybe there is no answer.

or carbon in heads/valves..our leak down test failed miserably and heads were replaced..wondering if the new internal breathers are suspect, i'll have to ask more questions next time I'm down there

Had a leak down test performed. 2% both cylinders. But I'm getting more oil out than any TC I have owned. Running oil at halfway mark and etc. Maybe more oil carry over is typical for a M8. No one seems to know. Harley did change the oil pump alignment procedure after mine was built. That could be a factor.
