Anyone doing the breather bypass on your M8?

Hi guys, a newbie to the forum here. Coming from a late model cage drag racing background, external breathers or catchcans is something we always did. Oil vapor in the intake tract will not only gum and carbon up throttle plates, valves and pistons, but the vapor in the air will effectively reduce the octane of the gasoline. The ECM will pull timing if the knock sensors kick in because of low octane .

there are those that don’t mind hot air mixing with the cool air going into the intake. Some even like a drop or two of oil mixxing in with their already compromized fuel.
And some just don’t need the extra performance.

Engines like cool air not hot oily air , and now much less gunk will build up on the top of the piston . That gunk shows some of it is not being burned anyway. I had black soot that had a faint smell of oil at the tail pipe before I removed the breathers and now that's being burned off too. I'd say that crud will mess up CC's after a few years.
Runs better too with the breathers out..
