Default Road Glide chopped engine guard with highway pegs?

I'm putting together the parts list for my new M8 RGS and am considering the chopped engine guard. My typical foot position when riding is heel on the footboard and toe on the peg. The chopped engine guard seems to have a pretty sharp bend where pegs would normally mount. Does anyone know if you can still mount pegs with the chopped engine guard? I looked and haven't seen any pics.

I cant answer your question, but I thought about the chopped Guard. I decided against it as someday I may want to add lowers.

True. I have no intentions to add lowers. But if I do, I'll have the original engine guard.

Do they hold their position well? And do they come in black?

yes, and no..but they have black short and long angled less adjustable versions that I don't see why they wouldn't work

What did you use for the actual pegs?

I have the chopped guards for the SGS. I originally installed highway pegs on them but in order for them to "look" neat when folded, you need extensions. If you get just regular highway peg mounts they will look odd when folded up. The peg sticks up further than the top frame of the guard. Just my .2cents. But for my 5' 8" frame w/30" inseam, I just couldn't reach and/or utilize the guard mount pegs comfortably without really stretching out for them, so I took them off and purchased a set of floor boards that have highway pegs built-in. For me that seems to look, and work better.

see attached.
