2000 RPM is barely 50 MPH in 6th gear, not exactly highway speeds.

My mileage seems to be getting worse. Last few tanks have been 35,34,33,31,31. I didn't buy it for the mileage, but it would be nice if it got somewhere close the advertised specs. I'm not even getting close to the range it shows when I fill up, which is already on the low side. Almost all highway 70-78 MPH.

I think the wide variation in mpg between bikes is due to a number of factors. Big factor is speed. I mainly ride county roads where the speed limits are 50-55. and yea, just a little over 50mph is 2,000 rpm, close to lugging it. On the rare occasion I hit the interstate speeds go up considerably-- in the 70-75 range. and the mpg go down. I have 2,000 miles on my M8 SGS and have AVERAGED 50.1mpg. high - 53.2mpg low 46.0 all hand calculated. I also burn non ethanol premium fuel. I think that definitely helps. everyone rides different. I do agree I bought the bike to enjoy and not see how many mpg I could get. but I do keep track.

I only use non ethanol premium gas in my area, its easy to get here. When I travel I take additives with me to combat the ethanol and lower octane rating can't always find non ethanol when traveling.

When mine was stock I was getting 45mpg mostly highway 70-75. Have stage 2 torque cam SE pipes a/c and street tuner checked mileage yesterday combo highway and back roads 42mpg. I was doing a fair amount of twisting the throttle can't resist

I have checked it everytime I get gas and its been in this range

As of now my 2017 is just about the same as my 2016 was. 43-48 depending on how I ride it.

I ran 65- 80 mph on and off for the entire trip. I am thinking the mpg will only get better as she gets broke in. Here is a pic of my results.
I have a 2017 RGU and tried unsuccessfully to find the screen you have show on you infotainment dash. Where in the menu is that located? Or is it just on certain bikes?

Thanks
Emil

It's on your bike, as I have the same bike as you. See post #48 above for pics of my display.

It's a trip summary. I think you have to set a route on the nav system and you can access this data after completing the route. I just checked mine and the summary is still from the Oct ride, as that is the last time I use the nav system for a route.

From the nav screen - choose map.
From the map screen - press the button on the right side of the map (3 lines, dot and long dash)
From that screen you'll see "Trip Summary" and press that. It will show the summary from the last trip you took where you used a route.

Default Thanks

Thanks for the help. I guess I have my hobby for the winter - learning how to use all this great stuff. I'm coming from a 2006 Wide Glide that didn't even have a tachometer. Steep learning curve for me.
