M8 problems

Up tight???
And I quote:
"Gentlemen: H'D's own public release of the new engines identified that they will be tuneable for spark advance and rpm limiting. That they will be street legal tunes.
In other words the old Street Performance tunes and not race tunes which included the AFR settings.
HD even pulled the Super Pro tuners from Canada and Mexico which they were not required to do.
There will never be a H-D sourced tune to modify any emissions required setting again or EPA compliant exhaust.
If you want to adjust AFR then get an after market tuner before they disappear. Or learn how to write code and flash the EMC yourself. After all it is only 1's and 0's.

From Merriam Webster:
Full Definition of lecture
1
: a discourse given before an audience or class especially for instruction
2
: a formal reproof
Well that was easy.

Bet lot's of folks that bought them didn't think of that at the time of purchase or worse, didn't know about it. Along with the fact that it takes a Harley Davidson specific tool to remove the boot without damaging it from the recessed spark plug well in the head. The tool is on backorder I've been told by several dealers in the DFW area. Each dealer was issued one. If they break it or lose it, they are gonna be up ***** creek for a while.

Removing spark plugs is a periodic scheduled procedure that under normal conditions need not occur more than every 30k mi. or so at best.
It's possible the M8's requirement for this service is either non essential or only limited to an overly extended period.
I don't own an M8 and haven't checked into this personally. So I don't know if it is true. But at present time, motorcycle are lagging with spark delivery as apposed to their for wheeled counterparts.
It's possible this is a step towards closing the gap?

lol, I agree, fuel tank i s maybe a 5 minute job, as far as the "specialty" tools go, i've made or improvised at least 90% of them. It's just mechanics people. Problem solve

No big deal. Just about every modern motorcycle has to have the tank removed to access the plugs. With four valve heads to work right you have to have the spark plug up in the top of the combustion chamber. No point in using four valve technology then banging the spark plug in the side of the combustion chamber like a 1940s tractor where it's easy to access but causes detonation problems due to poor combustion front.
And you can always fit those platinum or iridium plugs which last up to 80,000 miles if pulling the tank off is just too much for you.
