Congrats Patti, well done... My wife started on a Yamaha 650 sliverado which she rode one summer before she got her '04 Softail...

Congrats Patti.........My wife will soon be taking the riders course as well and has never ridden before. She is convinced that she must have a Harley for her first bike.........I have been seriously trying to convence her to go with the Kawasaki for at least the first year. She says "no way" because all my friends will make fun of her for not riding a Harley. I tell her that she's probably right....but it would all be in good fun and that bikers really don't care what you ride......as long as you ride safe. From the reponses I've seen to this post, I am correct in this assumption.......besides almost every Harley rider I know started in the metric world..........Others opinions are gladly welcome on this issue.......
