Hey Jeremy, The Swamp Cabbage Festival is in LaBelle. Moore Haven has the Chalo-Nitka Festival. Chalo-Nitka is a Seminole phrase meaning the day of the bass.

I love Swamp Cabbage also Hugh. The festival is held every year in the month of February in the town Of LaBelle. There are all kinds of dishes made from the heart of a sabal palm tree. For good swamp cabbage, I cook it myself, though I haven't done it in a while. Another one of my favorites during the festivals around the lake is the pumpkin bread the Seminoles make.

For Redman! Is it November yet?

Sounds like we've got the making of a February ride. Reminds me of 2 of the things I miss about Ohio, the Saurkraut festival and the Corn festival.

Yea Greg! Petticoat Junction and Greenacres. Sam Drucker, Mr. Ziffle and his pig.

Moore Haven is such a small town that we call it Hooterville. Population 1400.
