Being the rookie Harley rider that I am, what is a "Poker Run"?

 

It's a run where there are several stops, usually bars. At each stop (bar)you get a playing card. At the end of the run you take your cards and make the best 5-card pokerhand. Who ever has the best hand will usually win something.

 

Thanks, Candy Azz. Appreciate the info. I have the chance to do a Poker Run this coming weekend and didn't want to look as noob as I am.

 

Sometimes they use a piece of paper with the numbers and suits printed on them. You pick a card out of a pile, and they circle the number and suit. Then you hand in the paper at the end. This way you don't have to worry about all those individual cards. Poker runs are a good reason to ride, but any reason is a good reason to ride.

Some poker runs scare me when people want to drink at every stop. I tend to stay away from those or monitor how much they are drinking.

 

I'm with you wideglide95th. I'll save my drinking for the finish.
