Yea at times.... Been through so many bike weeks and speed weeks they just dont mean the same as for someone thats comes every now and then.

Daytona Main Street is a little dissapointing this year (at least so far). The cops put sooooo many barriers up and are blocking (big time) where you can park or pull over. They are forcing you to park a couple blocks to the north, which use to be the overflow parking once Main Street was stuffed. Doesn't look or feel the same cruising past people on foot rather than folks hanging with their rides. Your photos are nothing but no-parking, no-standing signs.
The Speedway is trying so hard (bless ther hearts) to draw folks to the grounds. Fewer venders, lots of wide-open holes and the infield is barren. At 2pm yesterday the infield had a large band stage from a flip-down tractor trailer with a band rocking, but was only trying to impress a dozen or so folks who were there listening. Daytona Speedway is a total bust.
So where did all the people go? Route 1, Ormond. Absoultly packed was Bruce Rossmeyer's HD dealer complex (600 acres). Also packed was the Iron Horse Saloon, and the Broken Spoke Saloonboth wererocking hard by 4pm. This whole area (2 miles long) is full of bikes and intimidated cages.
There were several ocurrances of accidental wet-T Shirt contests. A couple of times yesterday the rain came down pretty hard and most folks stood there at took it. It was HOT and muggy so mostgals didn't mind the cat calls and impromtu smiles and stares. Men are such pigs. hee hee.
See you all tomorrow!

Hey 1of2,
Is there any hotels still open in your area. I know all the ones in Daytona will be full, but I'm thinking about staying Saturday night in your area. I might have some family meet me Sunday morning to go to the Large Flee Maket.

I was all over the place yesterday (Thursday), and I'm back out again today. Today I'm headed to the Cabbage Patch for a guys-only kind of day.

I was out today. We went to The Iron Horse at about noon. Got in okay. It was a good time. Then we headed out to main street. I didnt see the no parking signs. Everyone was parked along main street like usual. Maybe it was just a Thursday thing. It rained just for a minute and cooled us off then stopped. Great day.

Cabbage patch today was a decent time, lots to eye-up and some nice looking rides coming and going. No "slaw" wrestling today, but the bar-maids made up for the dry pit. The band was goodwith lots of Skynard, Alabama, Stones, and some AC/DC tunes which made it great. At least they had a croud to listen to the band and all the beer was iced-up well.
From there we went to Club-44 down near New Smyrna Beach. That place was hopping pretty good. The bar gals were playful and didn't mind posing for some shots:
From there, cruised up Route 1 to the Boot Hill Saloon. Again, the place was rocking pretty good, and it didn't take too long to get to the bar for another brew.
The biggest crouds still seem to be at or near Rossmyer's place, and the strip of saloons on Route 1 just south of Rossmyer's. Late afternoon rain didn't slow anyone down, I was at Boot Hill Saloon when it rained the hardest, but was under a tent so I didn't get wet today.
