2009 Sportster 1200 Low (not low enough)
Allen,
The wife wanted to ride her own Harley.. I started her out on a used 2003 Suzuki Savage (something her learn on). After 2000+ miles and a few drops she felt she was ready for a Harley. She wanted a sportster and and nothing could talk her into anything else. I bought her a 1200L. She fit better on the 883L and the Nightster but they weren't "pretty enough" (she said). Well she's right and I thought I could lower the 1200 low a bit more for her which I did (1") but now it scrapes on the corners. I need to pull the 11" progressives off and go back to the 11 3/4"Since the seat is uncomfortable anyway, we may as well get it lowered and reworked for comfort. It's the standard 1200L 2up seat.
How much can we drop it and add some comfort with the memory foam mod? We also need to move her forward and feather out the nose as she complains that the bike (seat) is too wide. My wife has short legs, she's only 5'0".
Right now it just sits in the garage while she continue to ride the Suzuki 650 Savage.
LMK
Thanks,
Gamma~
