Talking oil

im 62 years old -- been having bikes since 1964 == wife and i work for textron building the military M1117ASV--- my 1979 FXE uses ULTIMA oil -- as far as im concerned most of the other stuff is just oil -- my bike has a add on oil filter and an oil cooler, magnet in the tank -- i also use the same additive as the government uses in all their stuff and on weapons -- ya dont think they would use something that would destroy a million$$ ASV do ya?? "MILITEC 1 " GOOGLE IT --- i even use it in the gas -- when i change my oil on the bike theres NEVER,EVER any metal or powder on that magnet --- the ULTIMA has a high zinc content -- i use BEL-RAY in my 4 speed tranny and the pic of my wifes sporty i posted i used ULTIMA in it and BEL-RAY primary oil WITH MILITEC 1 -- i use it in our SUV in everything BUT the brakes... ULTIMA 50,60,70 WT is like $108 a case delivered -- 3,000 miles + later its STILL blue, oily, and sticky --- pepboys has some of the other oils mentioned on sale -- gee i wonder why??

Found it. So it is a 1979 Sportster which was the first year for the XLS Roadster model. They came stock with 2" over front forks but that pic looks like a stock front end. This is why i asked because a pic can be deceiving. AFAIK that tank was used on Roadsters 1980 and 1981 but may have been an option for 1979. So i ask about that also. The Roadsters also came with the short sissy bar and pad which had some HD embossing; and the two-part seat.

So is it an XLS? Or has it been dressed up like one along with the Robinsons etc?

Sounds like the gf is an awesome lady.

Sorry, can't help with the jetting.

the forks are the original and it says XLS sporty tubes are shorter than a FXE or a S/G these are as long as my FXE ..

yeah robinson thunderheads -- single carb XR750 heads -- if ya read the post on "SHOVELHEADS" wifes bike wifes bike because a sporty is a girls bike .. a normal sized MAN looks goofy on a sporty -- but my wife looks good on hers -- shes 90lbs -- wet -- fits her small size.. oh the bike runs-- runs real well she can spin that engine up to 7200 rpm and make most men look B.A.D --

Whilest we are all entitled to our biased opinions, sometimes it is best not to express them in such a public place; especially this opinion in this forum.

No, it is not OK. Freedom of speech, regardless of country, does not include being rude and disrespectful.

I am not familiar with any of the exhaust offrerings for IronHeads [except for the Evo Cycle Shack slip-ons which just happen fit onto stock IronHead headers, and which i use myself]. My impression is that there are maybe two companies making stuff for IronHeads, plus all the drag pipes you see on eBay. I doubt very much that you will find what you are looking for.

Someone else here might know what companies are making IronHead pipes. You could also try the other IronHead forum, here ...

I apologize for your thread getting distracted by the "goofy" discussion.

This, sir, is the internet, something not owned by America or any other country. And being a dick is still being a dick no matter where you are from.
