well i got this bike and the guy befor me put the conversation kit on it to make it left sided shift and break on the right. i went to switch it back to shifter on the right break on the left. i dont know if the bike takes a special shifter or if he modofied it to work. there is a hole in the center of the shifter shaft. i put the what i belive to be the correct shifter on it and it slips. if its been modofied anyone know where to find a new one or where to find the correct shifter

thanks waylon

I had the same slipping trouble on my '75 with the shift lever. What I did was drill a hole thru the lever and shaft and put in a drift pin and it has worked fine ever since. Hope this is of some help.
