Internal vs. external throttle control
#11
I'll be there Saturday afternoon. I look suspiciously like my avatar pic so i am easy to spot. Also no biker patches etc, and i usually wear glasses. Hope we can meet up. If you may be there about same time PM me and i'll PM back with my cell phone number.

These are the throttle parts used on a 1973 XLCH having a Bendix carb with the enclosed hard wire throttle cable.
The two piece handlebars are where you want to start looking for parts.
Without a set of those you will not easily equip your ride with an enclosed cable.

footnote:
Earlier you said you wanted to create more 'pull' and less top speed by increasing the counter shaft sprocket 1 or 2 teeth.
That is not what you do.
You need to put on a sprocket with lesser number of teeth to reduce the gear ratio for more pulling power and less top speed.
I recommend a 23T for highway running (higher ratio) and a 20 or 21T sprocket for busting the red lights.
The 1960's XLCH came equipped with a 19T counter shaft sprocket and would climb a wall. But the engine screamed at 50 mph on the road, so not too practical.
