looks the same to me.
I dont know a thing about harleys. I ride a sport bike but want something to cruise on. Really like the look of that.

Yes. Both lead bikes are IronHeads.

The cylinder color ( silver) indicates that they are pre 1970 sportsters. The voltage regulator on top of the generator and type of horn and the "tin" primary cover on one makes me think that they are both "60s" XLCH models.

Horseshoe oil tank = XLCH. It's hard to tell, but it looks like the earlier hand controls. Pre-65 to be sure.

How can you tell that it's not say a '61 or a '63? What are the definitive pieces?

It would be hard to tell in my opinion on those particular bikes since they've been modified a bit...
