Default jpcycle tires

do you guys have good luck with jp tires?i dont know if they sold me some old tires or if the tires were just poor quality.i have a front tire i bought about a year ago...plenty of tread left but there is cracking on the side.the tires were dunlops(404 i think) made in indonesia.its not tiny tiny hairline cracks but it is starting to be pretty noticeable.
not sure if i should blame jp or dunlop or myself for not riding eneough last year to burn the tread off.

the recall was 09 and for cupping, what you are describing sounds like dry rot.
I get my tires locally so if there's a problem it's easy to take them back.

I am not familiar with the various codes etc that are on tires, but i wonder if the manufacturing date is in there somehow? It would be worthwhile to know this.

The date is the last four digits of the DOT stamp denoting the week and year. My Avons are "4808" or the 48th week of 2008. I was wanting to know anyway.

Now I just didn't know that. I can't ever remember and have to look it up every time myself.

I don't think HD uses Dunlop 404s.

the dunlop404s says not to use them on the big twins.

checked my numbers and its 4908.got them roughly a year after manufacture and had them on for roughly a year.they just look dryrotted.if anyone else uses teh d404s i would be curious if they have the same issue.---maybe i could use some shoe polish like the fastest indian lol.

I'm not saying that we don't use them on our HDs, I've got em on my XLCH. But the MOCO doesn't use 404s, this was in reference to the comment about a recent recall on Dunlops by HD.

Mine are a few years old and no signs of dry rot on them.

I would look into them for their date and if the company had any issues with that particular models.
