I have the same problem with the same tires on my 81, being that i have tubes am not too worry at this point, but i know my bike just sat for years without being moved, or so i was told, so i wont gripe.

I have dealt with JP on and off for years now, and they have held a good code of standards at all times. I would call them and talk to them about it, i know car tires they can trace to the day made, am sure you can do the same on motorcycle tires

Not all Dunlops are created equal. I haven't heard of anyone who has been honestly satisfied with 404's on a Harley. You get what you pay for in this case.

+1, these are definitely a much lighter duty tire than the 401s, 402s, etc.
