I read an article a while back about someone cutting off the tranny section of the cases on his ironhead and then put a big twin 5 speed in its place. has anyone seen or done this?

 

Seen a pic of sporty engine cut and sitting in frame but no 4speed attached.

 

a guy on harley tech talk did it in his.........i'll try to post his pics.........seems like a good idea if ya have trashed cases........

74_ironhead...are you considering this? If so, I'd like to see some pics of the project. I have a blown tranny case so, I'm thinking this might be a possibility of mine.

not really, I read an article about it without any pictures and I was just kinda curious. Seems like the way to go if you have a bad tranny.
