ACCEL solid state. Warranty [how long?].

The waranty is important as these can be like light bulbs - may last forever, may last until next week. Mostly they last almost [but not quite] forever. Hmmm, i guess i have not been around long enough to know.

I run a mechanical on my '77 XLCH off of a '69 VW Beetle it's a direct bolt on. They only cost $30 and most local part stores stock them so I don't have to wait. Been running the same one for 3 years now and only cleaned the contact poits once.

The Chevy regulator was a Delco Remy. They were a so-called direct swap, but in reality they were set up for the higher output of a car generator, and should be adjusted. Very few people know how to make the adjustments any more. Without the adjustments there is always the possibility of overcharging the battery

What company made your 2 bad-outta-the-box regulators? I've never gotten a bad one from Accel.
