turn signal flasher
My 79 ironhead had all the signals taken off and the guy used hand signals. With the help of ebay I found all my parts I needed, but I can't figure out where the flasher should be located. I looked in both of my manuals, on two electric schemos (I can find it in the drawing) and can not see where it was origianlly located. Can any body help me out, maybe look on your bike an find it. Thanks Ride safe.

I have a '73. Originally, mine was mounted to the bottom side of the headlight visor with rivets. (well I think that was original. Suppose a previous owner could have done it) I removed the visor so I , now, have mine in the headlight bucket as well. I wrapped it in some foam packing material and electrical taped it to ensure that the exposed portion of the pins wouldn't contact anything and also the keep it from banging around.

Yes, inside the headlite bucket. In the middle, at the front is a clip part number 9952 riveted to the bucket. I think the riviting is important as a ground, but i am not certain. The flasher is part number 68543-64B but you can get them anywhere including Walmart. If you need to get one it is the mechanical one with just two terminals; not the heavy duty or electronic models.

But I want remind that all automotive flasher relays DO NOT tolerate water at all. So they are need to sealed somehow, some cases I have used rubber cement.
