tapered bead tires
Hope you guys can help me out. Started restoreing a couple of ironheads for the grandboys, They will be ready to ride in 5 years. I have the orginal aluminum wheels, Which I feel are the best looking ever put out by HD. These are what I think are considered tapered bead rims. Can't find tires at the HD dealer, Was told they are discontinued items. Someone has to make tires for these as many as where put on Sportsters. Any ideas where to look?????????

No one makes the tires, and Harley recommends destroying the rims. We have discussed this several time and at length on the other forum. I can not speak from my own experience, but many there say that they have run a regular tire with these rims and experienced no problems, and that includes some very experienced and knowledgeable guys.

So rims are front 2.15" / 19" and rear 2.5" /18"
Pirelli makes tire 90/90 19" with should fit and there is more manufactures... speed rating H (130mph) should be enough to meet requirements. 100/90 tyre is too wide or fits if front fender is removed or aftermarket. 3.25" = 83mm and 3.60" = 92mm
In back 120/80 18" should fit without any modification...depends manufacturer 130/80 may fit.
4.25" = 107 mm and 4.60" = 117mm
Remember rim strip and inner tube
