Default key blanks

anyone know where to get key blanks for mid 70s ironheads? i would like a spare for my 77. it's flat on one side, with the grooves on the other. has the bar and shield stamped in it, so i believe it's oem. local locksmiths are no help and the dealer won't even talk to me since it's not new and shiny.

Go find another dealer. I went to the local dealer by me looking for a spare key for my Road King. They said no problem just need the VIN number, will take a few days, etc. I also asked about the ironhead (75) and they said Harley kept the information for spare keys for years and years and that it went back way farther than 75. Was no problem according to them.

Try a locksmith shop near a HD dealer or near any motorcycle shop.

minor snag there. it's on a custom frame and retitled to the new frame (all done before i got it), but if i can just find a blank, i've got someone that can cut it off mine.

got to head to a dealership way freakin' south of where i am to pick up a wheel bearing, so hopefully they'll be more helpful.

thanks
