the oil leak could be coming from the chain oiler. the c/c vent usually drips toward the front but the oiler leak is more to the center and rear of the transmission because the bike is leaning when parked. the oiler is adjustable. the starter sounds like a battery problem. you probably have a wet battery installed and they are not up to par like they were years ago. they are correct in making sure the ignition timing is retarded for starting. remember the old left hand retard control, don't use it and you will get a free ride over the bars or worse yet a nasty kick in the back of the leg.
