You can't beat the price. Have fun playing with her and know that there is a lot of potential in that bike. Here is my old Ironhead and boy do I miss her. These pics show how she looked when I got her, to how she looked when we parted ways:

Damn, $750? Great find. I know there is an ad for a company that specializes in sporty parts in The Horse Backstreet Choppers. I'll see if I can locate the info for you.

Sporty Specialties, www.sportyspecialties.com, or just try eBay.

eBay good for trannys. But i would take it out and check it over before buying another. You can get all the parts.

Have you done vehicle mechanical work before? Auto or bikes? There is a procedure to follow when bringing back to running status a bike that has been out and unused like this one.

yeah. I know we have to take the tank off and drain it.but the guy fires it up once every couple of weeks or so he says. I got 7 other guys that want to help me rebuild it in my club, one guy says he is going to do a custom paintjob for free. we will rip the tranny apart first before we replace it just in case it can be fixed

What is actual problem with tranny ? It's quite cheap and easy to rebuild IF there isn't any major faults ( broken gears/shafts). New bearings and shimming and replacing worn out shifters usually does "miracles". Most "tranny problems" are related to clutch, not transmission.
