Default Question about clutch adjustment on 68 xlch

There is a little return spring to pull it against the stop. Now adjust the clutch cable length by backing out the handlebar cable adjuster just until the releasing lever behind the kicker cover comes off it's stop. Was wondering is there any way of telling it hit the stop without taking off the&nbsp\\; kicker cover ?? Any help would be great thanks guys

I am not sure what you are trying to do here, but I will assume you want to adjust the clutch cable? if that is the case, then this is what you need to do:
I will not (waste time describing how to do it), just read the text and refer to the diagram.
Do not get into the clutch adjustment with the 6 springs inside the primary. You do not need that, just the cable adjustment..........pg

Hi Rolson,
&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;
Proper way, as per manual...
&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;
- Slaken cable at lever end
- Untighten worm nut
- Screw IN the worm adj. screw so the rods push on the release plate and this will force the worm back onto its pin stop
- adjust play at lever end, about 1/8th
- Unscrew adj. screw until you have the same amount of play
- Tighten nut,
&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;
Eh Presto, job done...
&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;
Patrick

PS, I see this forum is still screwed up on the typing front!!!

Really screwed up Patrick! I have to type fast and short or else the massage will not post.
Error message says 'Connection timed out.'.........pg

PS: I have given up all hope that this will ever be fixed, or the backslash business being fixed either.
