starter relay?

Default starter relay?

the starter relay on my 75 sporty gets power at the small terminal when i push the starter button in but sometimes nothing happens at the seleniod or the starter.if i cross the two large terminals on the relay the engine will kick over.i guess my relay is bad,am i right?can it be taken apart and cleaned?i tested it with it off the bike and it clicked like it should.anybody got any suggestions?

If it is the round relay, its not repairable.&nbsp\\; You can take it to an autoparts store and they can match it up with an automotive type.&nbsp\\; About 13 dollars.&nbsp\\; Relays are high wear parts and they do go bad.&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; The small terminal is the trigger when activated it makes a connection between the two large terminals.&nbsp\\; Just like the solinoid the connector plate gets pitted after awhile.&nbsp\\;
