Default I need help changing fluids in my 74 Iron Head

I just bought a 74 Ironhead, and was changing the oil, I pulled a plug at bottom of block by rear tire and drained about two quarts of oil, when I filled the sump ,nothing came out of drain plug, So I pulled filler cap on the top of right side case, added a quart and nothing came out, this is right side shift with no oil filter, I am mechanically inclined, just ignorant about these bikes, if some one could help with pics or description on how to change these fluids I would appriciate it, thansk

is this an XLH or an XLCH? they are a little different

also, there is an ironhead forum further down on the same page. I'll move this thread there for you.

You leave me wondering just what kind of 'ironhead' you are talking about here.
The drain plug on the bottom of the engine by the rear tire is the transmission drain. Just to the left of that is the primary case drain under the primary.
There is no filler cap on the right side of the case. there is no oil going into the sump.
The preceeding is talking about a Harley Sportster a.k.a. Ironhead.
It sounds like you have some kind of modern Harley twin if it has a filler cap on the right for oil to be poured into the sump. It sure is not a 1974 Sportster Ironhead.............pg
