Default 76 Starter motor

Hi guys,to get the starter motor out do i have to take the rear pipe offand thebattery box out,the manual that i have just dosent have enough information in it, is the solinoid attached to the starter as well. I have got as far as taking the crank case bolt off, but cant seem to see what else needs to come off. Thankspaul

Remove whole assembly, two bolts on primary side and one under tapped block ( +cables)... much easier.Be carefull that you don't drop that washer from starter axle inside primary.
