Motorcyclist Run Over, Killed
HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) ―
State police say a motorcyclist was killed when he was run over by a tractor trailer on Route 63 near Hagerstown.
It happened shortly after 5:30 p.m. Thursday on Route 63 near French Lane. Troopers say Ryan Myers, 23, was traveling northbound on a motorcycle when a tractor trailer pulled out of a truck stop into his path.
Troopers say the motorcycle braked and skidded about 300 feet. Myers was run over by the left rear tries of the tractor trailer, operated by 62-year-old Larry Garrett of Edmond, Okla.
Myers was pronounced dead at the scene. He was son of Republican Delegate LeRoy Myers, The Herald-Mail of Hagerstown reported.
State police say no charges have been filed. The accident remains under investigation.
