HELLO, I PUT IN A DRAG SPECIALTIES STARTER ON MY 1990 FLHS SPORTGLIDE, MY PROBLEM IS IT WORKS TILL I BOLT ON THE OUTER PRIMARY COVER ??? ANYONE HAVE THIS PROBLEM.
HELP??? THANKS FOR ANY HELP

sounds like it needs to be shimmed. Just like chevy starters.

Are you installing a new jackshaft along with the new starter? If so, I have seen a few aftermarket jackshafts be a little too big for the hole in the outer primary cover. It would cause just enough friction to make things not work like they should. A few weeks ago...the jackshaft assembly was too long for the hole and the jackshaft bolt head was bottoming out. It would work with the cover off, but not with the cover on....

Something to look into.....
