looking for advice 2000 Road King EFI
Have 2000 by title (1999) on frame, Road King with the Magnetti Marelli EFI 50,000 plus miles. Started having hard start and stalls, took it to the local Shreveport Harley shop, swaped out some censors, 2 weeks and 500.00 dollars later, got it running much better. That lasted for a full season with me riding it as often as the weather would allow, then again it started with (wont idle cold) then hard start again, i would run Seafoam through it and would help for a while. then from one tank to the last, again hard start, droped by the Harley shop again with the bike, explaining the same problem. To make a long story short,i'm now waiting 6 weeks for a decision on how much it would cost to convert it to the Delfi system. I cant find anyone that has diagnostic machine, just say all they can do is change parts till they find the right one. I have 8000+ dollars invested in the bike and want to keep it but not worth it if my wife has to follow me around with a truck and trailer to get me home /-; help anyone??

The S&S VFI system is a replacement ECM that improves things and is tunable with their Protune software. Harley also offers a replacement ECM for these models, part number 41000012A. The Harley replacement ECM is a rebadged S&S VFI ECM. Either of these ECM's would get you running better than stock, as well as giving you the ability to custom tune.
