Default Can anyone help me with engine check light

Hi guys, I just installed a power commander III on my 2006 ultra. I also put on a K&N air filter upgrade RK-3910 kit and SE slip on mufflers. The guy I bought the power commander told me he would set it up according to my add on's. I take the bike out tonight for the first time and everything seems to be fine. I start gettin on her and the engine check light comes on and when I let off on her the light goes out. I can run her at certain rpms and everything is fine. It seems like only when I step on it that the light comes on then a little bit later it goes out. I cant put my finger on it. It was fairly cold out if that has anything to do with it. The oil pressure was around 30 psi and the oil temp was near 190 degrees. If anyone knows what to do please let me know thanks in advance for all who respond.

Start here:

This will give you the procedure for retrieving the historical codes. Once you have them, post them here and I am sure someone will help you out.

Same thing happened to me. Same off and on engine light. Turned out to be a loose spark plug wire throwing an improper fuel combustion code. If you're lucky, check that the plug wires are snapped down good. I hope this helps. Good luck.

The best thing to do is to visitpowercommander.com and downlosd the tutorial about setting the throttle position and watch the video. It really helps. When I installed my PC3 it had the throttle position at 4% instead of 0% for idle. And make sure the engine is up to operating temps before you set it.
