Default Power Conmmander III USB/EX

I finally bought a power commander III USB after reading all the threads on this forum. I bought it because I didn't like how my bike ran after the 903 download. I bought it from Jamie at fuelmoto and he downloaded a map for my bike (2007 FLHRS): Stage I air cleaner and Sampson Silver bullets. I installed it with no problems and the bike runs alot better than after the 903 download. Today I had it dynoed and the mech said it was a very good map (thanks Jamie) The bike stats were 69.62 hp and 83.02 torque which was pretty good with what I have installed.

The problem I have is, I just looked at the power commander web site and they now have a power commander III USB EX which has alot of features that make it more compatable with my bike. I wish I would have knew this before I bought the PC III USB (thanks Jamie). I'm writing this to let everyone who is thinking about a PC III USB for a 2007 Harley to possibly wait until the PC IIIUSB EX is out. Take a look at the web site it looks pretty interesting. I wonder if they can mod a PC IIIusb to a EX model

I have 06 103 scremin eagle FAT BOY and I put S.E.R.T. in my bike no engine mods. but D&D 2 in 1 header, K&N , 8mm plug wire's had dynoed at 1000 mile service almost 100 degree's and high hunidity but right at 100 & 100, plus air fuel ratio dead on 13%, also now I'm hearing of new better S.E.R.T. but it has to be very improved or say I'll make lot more than now, just to let some of you that have 07's and engine mods. and using power commander, I have heard of problem's with them, like I say your bike your money, hope it run's tip top all the time. PURPLE HAZE.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe this new device is just the LCD screen device that you use in conjuntion with the PCIII. I believe what you have is what is still and only available. Again, I may be wrong. Putt

PCIIIEX is a new complete system that is CARB and EPA legal, have heard this was coming ...Jamie will here from me since I just purchased the old system last month...We'll see if this is an improvement or just a legal hurdle DJ has jumped....

From my understanding, the pc3ex is an improvement in that is will utilise the existing 02 sensors. There is not much info around as yet on the site, and the distributor/ importer here in Oz left to go to the states today to get the full rundown. I wouldn't fret too much guys, as was said by purple, it would take significant improvement to justify changing from something that is working fine.

In as far as problems with the pc3, there is a thread here regarding a specific issue. suggest people do their own homework.

To put things in context, the LCD screen has been out for several months but we can't get them here as yet.....

$0.02

cheers

Mick

From the info i've read so far it looks like the older unit is now considered to be the race tuner and the new unit is to meet the CARB requirements of the EPA. It may also utilize the factory O2 sensors for the newer bikes.

This is a direct quote from Jamie at Fuelmoto when I questioned him about the EX versis my USBIII; FWIW

Hello, the EX is basically the same unit but you cannot adjust the low and cruise range with it so it is 50 state emissions legal. The unit you have is far superior. Jamie

Thanks, For the info from Jamie. I was getting ready to call him. Actually the web site has "coming soon" on it. The EX sounds like the EPA is the putting pressure on.
