Default Aux Light Bar Gremlin

Quick question...my AUX lights don't turn on with the ignition switch, is this normal? Also, with the ignition switch on, and a multimeter across the leads for the aux lights, I have 12V showing...plug the lights in, no workie...touch the light connectors to a spare battery I have lying around, boom...workie! WHAT THE HELL AM I MISSING!?

Oh yeah...2010 FB Lo

^^^Power = good...Ground = bad^^^

Re-trace your wiring...you'll find it.

I thought that was the case too, but if it was in fact the case, why would my multimeter read good voltage across the hot wire AND the ground wire in the light bucket? If the ground was bad I. The light bucket, wouldnt I read an open, or zero volts?

easy way to tell

hook everything up like it was to the bike

now take a piece of wire connected to known good ground (like the battery) and touch the other end to the headlamp bucket and see if lights come on

Genius...for some reason the ground wire riveted to the light bucket will give me a good voltage reading, but not good enough to light the light! Now I gotta figure out how to ground them! Ideas?
