Default What is trying to quit now?

Swapped out for a new battery after making sure it was fully charged. Rode 44 miles to a PGR mission. 1 1/2 hour later, got ready to move to cemetery, turned ignition switch on, hit start button, NOTHING. Absolutely nothing. No click, nothing. Figured some dodo bird flipped the emergency switch so rocked it off and back on. Still nothing. Flipped every switch I could think of including back in gear and back in neutral, even jiffy stand even though I was pretty sure USA models don't have that feature. Still nothing. Gave up and turned off ignition but decided to try one more time so turned ignition back on and hit starter button. Fired right up. So what's about to go south in the ignition switch or is there something I can do to it to help?

Check your battery connections and grounds. It sounds like something is loose and you're getting an intermittent connection.

Well that's just it, I replaced the battery and did all that. Very careful to tighten EVERYTHING. Sounds more like something starting to fail in the ignition switch to me now. I just don't know if there is anything I can do to stop or slow it down.

I have seen it on a few older touring bikes. The ignition switch gets sloppy and doesn't make full connections when you turn it.

To test for it next time, wiggle the switch a bit further to the right. Then see if it fires off.

That's correct. Change the console switch assy. Will be doing same on mine and it's a 2012.
