Default Turn Signal Question

I have a 99 Sporty and the turn signals turn off by themselves after 20-30 seconds. Is there any way I can stop this? I prefer to have full control over them.

Default RE: Turn Signal Question

try this, locate the turn signal module (under the seat mounted to the rear fender) locate the white wire with the green tracer stripe on it,(position 5 on the plug. This is the vehicle speed sensor input wire. Try pulling this wire out of the circuit and see if that gives you control without the module sensing the distance traveled. If it works then youshould have full control.
P.S. Don't forget to turn them off or you can get yourself killed!!!!!!!! I hope this helps!!![&:][sm=biker2.gif]

Default RE: Turn Signal Question

You do have full control. Just hit the button again and they go off.

Hit left button to move to left lane. Make lane change and hit button again.

On/Off

Doesn't it also go off by lean as well as time? I thought it went off automatically when you made the turn.

Default RE: Turn Signal Question

Thanks alot Hogmech, I'll give that a shot.

SLORider - The blinkers turn off after a turn on the '04s and up. My problem isn't with lane changes it's more of when I am on a long entrance/exit ramp. Halfway through the signal will turn off. I don't like that. In cases like that I would rather keep my eye on the other people merging rather than if my blinker is on or off.

what he said, I'd rather be watching traffic than checking to see if the turn signal is still signaling my intention to turn. at best I get 3 seconds before they self cancel on my 97 FLSTS. they stay on much longer on my 07 and 08 H-Ds.
