Bus er comes up on odometer
Hello I have an 2008 Ultra, I had the BUS ER come up on my odometer, after I tried to start it before check engine light went off.I could ride 12 miles to work , but after bike sat in the sun all day It would come up on the way home. I pulled up a few codes & then cleared them. Rode 30 miles before BUS ER came up. unpluged ECM TSSM maxi fuse all looked ok, rode 40 miles & all was good ,rode 20 miles today in some heat & BUS ER came on, should I unplug ECM, TSSM SPEEDO & TACK & use dielectic grease on all & fuses. could something be breaking down from the heat, bike runs fine even when the BUS ER is on. Had a guy tell me TSSM could be bad. Also cleaned all ground connections

When an error message comes up it is advising you that something is wrong and recommending that something is done to put things right. Pulling plugs and dumping the messages doesn't achieve that! This needs a more scientific approach.
Your owners manual should tell you what the error messages mean. There is also a sticky in this section worth reading called 'Harley Diagnostic Codes'.

I agree with the above post from from Mr. Brown.
I do have a suggestion, tho..... take off the outer fairing and unplug the radio. When my radio, on my 2009 SG went south, I received bus err and had the same issues as you do now. Should be worth an hour's experiment to see.
Could be any number of things, and the diagnostic codes should help nail it down, somewhat. TSSM; Speedo; Tach: radio: shorted data plug; shorted PV;... all have the possibility to be the issue of bus err.
