Harley sportster starting problem
I am new to the forum and new to harleys as well. I am nineteen and just bought my first bike a 1996 harley sportster 883 with aftermarket black ape hangers, short exhaust, solo seat, etc i LOVE it, and am currently turning it into a bobber however the other day i couldnt start my bike and after examining the bike over and double checking everything i noticed a clear tube coming out of what looks to be the battery on the left side of my bike, and it ran down to near the bottom of the frame near the rear wheel. the other end of the clear tube is disconnected and funny enough I cant locate where the other end of the tube goes in. Problem may not even be the tube as someone told me it is a fuel overflow line that doesnt go anywhere. my bike isnt leaking any fluid and i checked everything else over so im hoping this isnt a big problem as i have ridden the bike numerous times before the issue and have had no problems.
I am fairly new to motorcycle and not sure about the location etc of parts on the bike so if anyone could help me out that would be awesome thanks
I WANNA RIDE MORE.....

is that tube left with one end open? because it seems to go from my battery down under near the bottom of the frame and just goes through a small hole then out to nothing.. thanks for your reply just trying to avoid taking my bike in to get it running again
