Question What is this dial on my grip?

Hi!

I just purchased my first Harley from Dallas, Texas. It's a Fatboy, 2000 model. What a bike, I love it allready

At the end of my left hand grip there is a dial of some sort - anyone know what it is for? It has numbers on it from 0 (power button symbol) to 6, and it can be turned. Does not seem to affect anything that I can see.

You guess is as good as mine, thankful for any tips.

LOL!

Maybe I should try twisting it and leaving it on - see if there is heat involved. But hey, why try it when I can ask someone first, huh?

Ejection seat? Yeh right, like its also the control for the sun roof.

No, seriously the softail series have an adjustable balance shaft to set the vibration level. The dyna series are just turned up full all the time. You can mainly feel it through the seat. Turn it on, your female pillion will love it!

And here I was, thinking the throttle was the vibration level adjuster! Damn...

Gets pretty cold in Norway. I'm sure you have worked out that it is heated grips, so we should let this thread go AWOL.

Who can come up with the most entertaining or convincing response?

Off topic but yeah it gets very cold here. Every winter it drops to near -30 degrees celcius (-22 F) in my region. Bike season starts early May and lasts until end of September. Way too short for my liking, but hey what can I do - I live here... It is gorgeous in summer though, nature explodes in green

That being said, I really loved Oz when I spent 1 1/2 months there back in late 1999. Cairns, Magnetic Island, Alice Springs, Uluru, Coober Pedy, Adelaide, Great Ocean Road, Melbourne, Geelong and Sydney. If friends and family didn't hold me back I would probably have stayed for good. Awesome country.
