I think you are on borrowed time. I would replace it. They tend to quit when you least expect it.

I would test it before replacing it. Putting a load tester on the battery itself will tell you alot about the battery's condition. From performing the test, you should get the voltage and the actual CCA cold cranking amps. If the actual CCA is a whole lot lower than whatever the CCA rating of that battery is...I would consider replacing it.

If the CCA and the voltage are still good...and you have never had any trouble with it. I would just leave it alone. It might die next month or it might die in two years...never know.

Definitely test it, but I went through the same thing and ended up replacing it. They are fairly cheap and now I don't have to worry about it everytime I ride.

Hmmm... I bought my bike new in '01 and still have the factory battery. Got 42,000 miles with no starting problems. I did charge it from time to time, but now I use a battery charger from Lowe's made by Vector. Cost $19.95, has two different pigtail connectors, (sae and alligator clip). Works great. But I think I'm living on borrowed time. 6 1/2 years is pushing it for a factory battery.

your manual will tell you how to check it,,, its fairly ez
get a volt meter,,, some cheap ones are 15$
read the volts,,,, then look at the chart in the manual
if its up to 100% charge, your good ot go for another summer
never jump off a auto!!!!!!
